AREAS OF INTEREST
Grants are awarded primarily in the areas of education, health and human services.

GEOGRAPHIC PREFERENCE
Grant applications will be considered for services in Southwest Missouri and in those communities that host operating facilities for ADF, IDF and FITCO.

A.  APPLICATION PROCESS

Concept Letters
The application process is initiated by the Foundation’s receipt of your organization’s concept letter.  The concept letter is a tool for introducing our Foundation to the framework of a potential grant request.  The following information should be included in your concept letter:

  • Organization’s mission
  • Proposed project/program for funding (describe concisely what the program is intended to accomplish, approximate total cost of project, and brief supporting statistics and description)
  • Specific purpose of funds requested
  • Anticipated funding request.

The grant cycle begins with submission of this letter no later than Wednesday, February 29, 2012.   Please deliver or mail the concept letters to:

Organizations selected from the initial concept letters for further consideration of their “grant requests” will be notified in writing.

Grant requests are by invitation only. Organizations receiving written notice of further grant consideration should proceed by printing the PDF files below.

  • February 29, 2012 (4:00 p.m.) - Deadline for submitting concept letters
  • April 4, 2012 - DFF deadline to notify agencies selected for grant requests
  • May 4, 2012 (4:00 p.m.) - Deadline for submitting grant requests
  • June 2012 - DFF to deliver grants
  • Fiscal year end - Grant recipients to provide summary

D. EXCLUSIONS

  • For profit organizations
  • Projects outside the mission of the Darr Family Foundation
  • Organizations whose policies or practices discriminate on the basis of gender, race, religion, ethnic origin or sexual orientation
  • Political campaigns or special event funding
  • Funding for loan payments
  • Other exclusions may apply
